“Over the Counter, Under the Radar: Identifying Signs, Symptoms and Prevention Strategies of the Rising Dangers of Cough Medicines, Energy Drinks and Other Items” The University of New Hampshire’s Graduate School Manchester Campus is sponsoring a free workshop called “Over the Counter, Under the Radar.” Laurie Warnock, MPH of the Northern New England Poison Center will be presenting about the rising danger of everyday items found in bathroom cabinets and refrigerators, such as cough medicine, energy drinks and inhalants, and the emergence of synthetic amphetamines and cannabinoids, often referred to as 'bath salts', 'K2' and 'Spice'. She will also be discussing the increase in availability and misuse of prescription medications, including signs, symptoms and prevention strategies. |
