Travel Grant Request Form

The Graduate School is pleased to announce that travel grants are available to assist graduate students presenting papers and poster sessions at professional meetings and conferences. This includes costs incurred from online events such as registration and conference fees. Travel grants are also available to students who are attending professional development workshops and seminars that will enhance their research agendas.

Travel Grant Request Form

Students are eligible to receive one travel grant per academic year (fall to summer) and the grant will not exceed $300. All applicants must be current graduate students at the time of the application and travel. Students seeking a travel grant must, at the latest, submit the request during the month prior to their conference or meeting (e.g. if the conference is in June, the request needs to be submitted before the end of May). If there are more requests than the budget allocated for a particular month, then the grant award winners are determined at random each month using a lottery system.  If a grant request is denied during a particular month, the applicant can submit other requests in subsequent months as long as they are still eligible and the request is submitted at least a month ahead of proposed  travel.

For those who receive a travel grant, and need to request a reimbursement, please see our Travel Grant Reimbursement Instructions for help. Please note that USNH policy has a 45-day post-travel limit on reimbursement.

Students receiving travel grants will be expected to participate in the Graduate Research Conference during Graduate Student Appreciation Week, which is held each year in early spring. Also, the names of travel grant recipients will be posted on the graduate school website.
